With classes dismissed this Monday, February 10th, Wayne County School teachers will be welcoming parents and guardians to their classrooms to discuss student progress and share pertinent educational information with them anytime between 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. If parents or students are ill and unable to attend Monday’s Parent Teacher Conferences, they are welcome to phone the school or email their child’s teacher, so they do not miss this important opportunity. The parent teacher partnerships are an important link to student success.
In addition, on Monday, February 17th, classes will be in session. President’s Day had previously been scheduled as a day off, but will now be taken advantage of as a make-up day in the annual school calendar.
On another note, a mandatory bus evacuation safety drill will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at 2:45 p.m. when classes will be dismissed across the district. Wayne County buses travel over 3,000 miles daily maintaining an excellent safety record. It is important for all students to understand and be reminded of the emergency procedures on board buses whether they are transported on regular daily routes, field trips or extra-curricular trips.
