Wayne County High School students have produced some unique items this year in Marsha Bertram's Tech Design/Help Desk entrepreneurial class. However, their latest project designing cloverleaf pins comes from the heart. Their mission is to sell 500 pins to help in the fight against cancer.

Monticello Elementary Fifth grade students experience concepts first hand at annual Science Fair 5th graders participate in Science Fair

Monticello Elementary fifth graders participated in an annual Science Fair to help them better understand and reinforce Next Generation Science Standards that are implemented in their classrooms on a daily basis. Students showed off Science experiments that they conducted and the art work they did to market their hypothesis. The hope is that events like this will spark further interest in STEM classes that could lead students to impressive career related options.     

Monticello Academic Team named Runner's-Up at District Monticello Academic Team named Runner's-Up at District

The Monticello Elementary Academic Team were named the KAAC 2020 Elementary District 55 Governor’s Cup competition runners-up on February 11th. Those students who advanced will compete at Region in Clinton County on February 24 and February 29.

Upcoming alterations to the school day calendar

        Parent Teacher Conferences are set for Monday, February 10th from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m.  If parents or students are ill and unable to attend Monday’s Parent Teacher Conferences, they are welcome to phone the school or email their child’s teacher, so they do not miss this important opportunity. On the following Monday, February 17th, classes will be in session on Presidents Day. Also note that a districtwide bus evacuation drill will be held at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, February 12th when classes are dismissed.   

100 days of school celebrated at the Elementary Schools Monticello students created 100 beaded necklaces during a 100 day activity

Many of the Elementary students customized their clothing to celebrate the 100th day of school. Learning activities included 100 days into their equations.
