21st Century presents Light on After School Lights on After School

Please come and enjoy celebrating literacy and after school programming on Oct. 24th from 4-6:30 pm.  The food and activites for the evening will be centered around the character, Auggie from the novel Wonder,by R.J. Palacio.  The author introduces us to Auggie, a fifth-grade boy born with a facial deformity, and throughout the story delivers a powerful message about the importance of kindness, tolerance, and acceptance.

The Scholastic Book Fair was held in the WCMS library in conjunction with the 21st Century After School Program on October 2nd. Students had a huge variety of books to select from in the library.

KY Dept of Agriculture official Tina Garland visited the school garden Myles Gregory, the student's manager of the garden chatted with the visitor and nutrition services menu planner Casey Holt and director Kathryn Tucker

Wayne County's school garden is regarded as the best in the state by agriculture officials. Harvesting the vegetables is a joint undertaking by students and the extension service.

"Eat Smart-Play Hard" Campaign held at elementary lunch room monticello elementary

The University of Kentucky and the Wayne County Cooperative Extension Services Office joined Wayne County Elementary Schools in promoting a special mascot recently. Wally Cat traveled to all the elementary schools with the message "Eat Smart - Play Hard" to improve nutrition.
