      Due to a decreased incidence rate of COVID, masks are optional at Wayne County Schools this week beginning Monday, October 18th through October 22nd.

Surplus school and office items available for purchase surplus tables

      There are a variety of office and school furniture pieces available for sale at Wayne County Schools. The Wayne County Board of Education declared several items surplus during a previous meeting.  Some items sold, but some had no bids. The attached document gives items that received no bids and are open for bidding.

Girls Soccer Season Concludes Girls Soccer season concludes

Wayne County Girls Soccer season concluded on October 12 at the Regional Tournament, The Lady Cardinals were defeated by Somerset 5-1.

WCHS Counselors link students to future college opportunities Parent Night was held at the WCHS

Wayne County High School students recently attended a College Fair at The Center for Rural Development. In addition the counselor's office hosted Parent Night for students and parents to learn more about different colleges and trade schools to help determine seniors future educational plans. Planning starts early, as counselors share expectations for high school when students are still in middle school.

WCHS Senior Gage Gregory wins golf scholarship at Boys State Tournament Gage Gregory playing at state tournament

Wayne County Senior Gage Gregory was the sole golfer from Wayne County that qualified and played on to the second day of the Boys State Tournament, held in Bowling Green, Kentucky, recently. He did not place on the second day, however, he won the the Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Scholarship for the Boys. He is believed to be the first recipient ever to obtain this prestigious scholarship while playing on the Wayne County Golf Team.  The scholarship was based on academics, golf, sportsmanship and Integrity. Gage had to be nominated for the award and it only applied to seniors.  It is only given to one senior girl and one senior boy who qualifies to play in the state tournament. Congratulations Gage!
