Gov. Andy Beshear announced an executive order during his Feb. 23 media briefing that recommends all public school districts offer or expand in-person instructional opportunities beginning March 1, or seven days after district personnel receive their second COVID-19 vaccination.  

Students, educators and staff will be required to wear face coverings while on school grounds and inside school district transportation at all times, subject to the exceptions listed in the face coverings order, Executive Order 2021-070, and any renewal orders.

Donna Blevins was recognized during the January Board of Education Meeting for her 16 years of service to Wayne County Schools. She received a plaque from Superintendent Wayne Roberts for her years of working for the children of the county. She took a leadership role, serving as the chairperson for many of those years. #tellingourstoryky

Lady Cardinals hope to rebound following first two losses of entire season Forward Mallory Campbell scored during the game

Lady Cardinals are 10-2 on their season following a 66-47 loss to Southwestern on Monday, February 22nd in the final regular season district game at home. Over the weekend, the Lady Cards traveled to South Laurel for a tough game that ended with a score of 66-50. Their next game is Wednesday, February 24 with McCreary County for an away district game. Go Lady Cards! 

Mat Cards named Runners-up in Small School Sectional Finals Sports Seal

The Mat Cards defeated Barbourville, McCreary Central, and Knox Central. Wayne County fell short 35 -30 to Boyle County in the Small School Sectional finals they hosted on February 12th. The dual changed leads back and forth several times. Wayne County had won eight consecutive Sectional Dual Championships. The Mat Cards record now stands at 21-3 on the season.
