Wayne County Schools will be returning to four day in-person learning
Wayne County Schools are happy to report that plans are underway to resume four-days per week in-person instruction beginning Monday, February 22.
All in-person students, will attend classes on Mondays through Thursdays with Fridays continuing to be a virtual day of learning for all students. Students who have chosen the virtual option may continue with full virtual instruction.
The decision to return to class is based on the dramatic drop in the number of active Covid-19 cases in the community. In addition, the staff has had the opportunity to get the first dose of the vaccine, helping lessen the chance of transmission.
The staff is eager to return to in-person instruction because of the benefit to the students. Every effort is being made to adhere to the healthy at school guidelines. Masks will be mandatory for the students in grades one through seniors and meals will continue to be served in the classrooms.
Buses will run their normal routes.
