Texting Resource for Families--
Check out the KHEAA texting service, which allows students, family members, professionals and others to receive regular (twice a month) reminders and updates regarding FAFSA and other important college access information. This is a two-way texting service, so subscribers can text back with questions and receive an individual response. To sign up, text the word OUTREACH to (800) 928-8926.
Seniors will apply for financial aid starting on October 1st of their senior year. They will use the taxes they filed in the Spring of their junior year.
Each college may have a different deadline. Check with the college(s) you are interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about their definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date they receive your FAFSA, or the date your FAFSA is processed.
