• Alert:

    Wayne County will resume in-person classes on Monday, September 28 on an alternating schedule.  In-person students will be assigned to attend school on either Red (Monday & Wednesday) or White (Tuesday and Thursday) days.  All other days will be virtual days.  Expect communication from your child’s teacher regarding their assignment by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 22nd. Arrangements will be made for all members of the same household to attend on the same days.  Students who chose the full-time virtual option will continue with virtual instruction.

To meet the Humanities graduation requirement, students will need to meet one of the following:

 

Art & Music Humanities

Humanities

3 full years of Band

Art History (Dual Credit class)

 

 

 

ART HUMANITIES                                                                                      ½ CREDIT 

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course is designed to meet ½ of the Arts and Humanities requirement for graduation.  The focus is on beliefs, thoughts, and traditions of humankind as reflected in the visual arts.  The study of this subject promotes an understanding of the connections among the arts and their historical and cultural contexts and fosters an examination of these common elements. 

 

 

MUSIC HUMANTIES                                                                          ½ CREDIT

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course is designed to meet ½ of the Arts and Humanities requirement for graduation.  Topics covered are the elements of music, stylistic periods, and composers.
