ANIMATION                                                                                      ½ CREDIT           

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course is designed to teach students how to create computer graphics, develop storylines, and complete a total animated production.

 

 

DRAWING                                                                                         ½ CREDIT 

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course offers a wide variety of drawing experiences both in and out of the classroom.  This course will also explore the understanding, design, organization, color concepts and practical application of drawing.   

 

 

PAINTING                                                                                         ½ CREDIT 

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course will explore the understanding, design, organization, color concepts and practical application of painting.  Watercolor, acrylics, and oils are some of the types of painting that will be utilized.    

 

 

VIDEO PRODUCTION                                                                        ½ CREDIT 

Pre-requisite:  None

 

Students will learn how to make animation, edit and create using video.  They will also assist in video-taping school events.  Students will gain hands-on experience on how to produce and create video productions through the use of video editing software and computer aided graphics programs. 

 

 

ART & DESIGN                                                                                  ½ CREDIT

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course has an emphasis on students drawing and creating designs on computer and drawing them out by hand. The students in the course will learn to use computer programs, etc. to create designs and Art.

 

 

VISUAL ART                                                                                      ½ CREDIT

Pre-requisite:  None

 

This course provides instruction in the basic arts areas with emphasis on design, drawing, painting, printmaking, textile design, and photography.  Visual art careers, art history, art appreciation, evaluation and aesthetics will be incorporated in the studio instruction.

 

 

ART HISTORY                                                                                   1 CREDIT

Pre-requisite:  ACT Reading score of 20 or higher OR a Compass Reading score of 85 or higher if taking the college class.

 

This class can be taken concurrently with Art History 105 & 106 as a dual credit college course.  Upon successful completion of the course students will receive a high school credit as well as 3-credit hours per class from SCC. Students not wishing to take the college portion of this class will still be required to cover the same curriculum as those who participate in the dual credit option.  This class will survey the historical development of art and architecture with primary emphasis on cultures of Egypt, Western Asia, Greece, Rome and Medieval Europe along with Western art and architecture from the 14th Century through the present.

 

 

ART HISTORY 105-Ancient Through Medieval Art      (Somerset Community College)                                                           3 CREDIT HOURS

Pre-requisite:  ACT Reading Score of 20 or COMPASS Reading Score of 85 or higher

 

Surveys the historical development of art and architecture with primary emphasis on cultures of Egypt Western Asia, Greece, Rome and Medieval Europe.

 

Students are responsible for college registration, books and tuition for this course.  Tuition is due within the first week the class is offered

 

 

ART HISTORY 106 - Renaissance Through Modern Art (Somerset Community College)                                                             3 CREDIT HOURS

Pre-requisite:  ACT Reading Score of 20 or COMPASS Reading Score of 85 or higher

 

Surveys the historical development of Western art and architecture from the 14th Century through the present.

 

Students are responsible for college registration, books and tuition for this course.  Tuition is due within the first week the class is offered.
