• Alert:

    Wayne County will resume in-person classes on Monday, September 28 on an alternating schedule.  In-person students will be assigned to attend school on either Red (Monday & Wednesday) or White (Tuesday and Thursday) days.  All other days will be virtual days.  Expect communication from your child’s teacher regarding their assignment by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 22nd. Arrangements will be made for all members of the same household to attend on the same days.  Students who chose the full-time virtual option will continue with virtual instruction.

  • SCC’s Regional College Fair:  Seniors (who have turned in permission slips) will go to The Center for Rural Development that morning for SCC’s Regional College Fair.  Admissions Counselors from all of the area colleges will be there to meet students and give them information about the admissions process, programs/degrees offered, and more!  Students will return to WCHS before lunch.

     

  • KHEAA’s “Getting In” Presentation for Seniors:  Audrey Fowler Price, our KHEAA Outreach Counselor, will be at WCHS during 6th period to talk to the seniors about the college fair they attended earlier that day, applying for and getting in to college, applying for financial aid, and more. 

 

  • 5:30 PM-- Informational Night for Senior Parents:  Audrey Fowler Price, our KHEAA Outreach Counselor, will be in the WCHS Media Center @ 5:30 PM to discuss the college application process, paying for college, how to apply for financial aid, and changes in financial aid.  For the first time ever, the FAFSA application will open on October 1st.  She will be able to answer any questions parents may have.

  • FAFSA Application is Available!!!   Seniors can complete the FAFSA online.  Things are changing this year…  Instead of waiting until January, the FAFSA application opens on October 1st this year.  So, it is imperative that students apply for financial aid @ www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible after Oct 1.  If students need help, our KHEAA expert, Audrey Fowler Price, will be available to help on October 19, October 21, and December 5.

  • Surviving College Mini-Presentation & Individual Q&A Sessions (as needed):  Our KHEAA expert, Audrey Fowler Price, will do a brief presentation during senior English classes.  Then, she will go to the library and help individual students (as needed) from each class.  Basically, she will be here to help our students with anything they need as they transition from high school to college.
