Welcome to my Library Media Specialist home page! I'm proud to be working as the Wayne County High School Library Media Specialist. We are very blessed to have many resources for our students and staff at our school. There are a plethora of resources within our library and through the virtual realm. Our district provided all students and staff access to the Kentucky Virtual Library www.kyvl.org as well. I am here to help students and teachers navigate these many resources efficiently and effectively.
Currently, it is my 21st year as an employee at Wayne County High School. My first six years were taught teaching English/Language Arts and the remaining have been spent as the high school Library Media Specialist. It has been truly amazing to see our students grow and our school flourish in the past years! This year 2018 - 2019 will prove to be another exciting year.
I firmly believe in education and that every human, regardless of age or status, can learn something every day! When we close our mind, attitude, and heart to learning, we are essentially refusing to live life to its fullest! I am learning more and more every day! In fact, there's so much to learn there's simply not enough time to take it all in!
I enjoy reading a variety of genres. My favorite books, though, are fiction narratives with realistic characters that come to life on the pages and you, as the reader, feel you are right there with them amidst the action! To list my favorites would be a lengthy task. However, my all time favorite book is Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
I am married to Brian Ford, Wayne County Schools' Director of Migrant Education, ESL, Title 3, World Languages and District Grant Writer. We have one son, Maverick who is in 6th grade. I enjoy singing, traveling, landscaping, decorating, and spending time with my family.
