College Corner: Midway College

Midway College is a private, women’s only, college that was established in 1847. The original name for the school was Kentucky Female Orphan School. Its original purpose was to educate female orphans to become teachers. Today, Midway College is known for its excellence in Business, Nursing, and Teacher Education programs throughout, and beyond, Kentucky.  Midway’s main campus is located in Midway Kentucky, but there are also campuses in Lexington, Frankfort, Georgetown, and Versailles. Midway also offers an off-site location in Lexington as well as many online programs. There are approximately 1,362 students from 29 states and 9 foreign countries. The cost of yearly tuition is around $20,000. The degrees that are offered are associate, bachelor, and master degrees. Midway also offers several varsity athletic teams such as archery, basketball, cross country, soccer, softball and many more. Midway college also supports their Eagle mascot in the school colors of blue and gold.
