What does my child need to be enrolled in Walker Early Learning Center Preschool Program??
- Birth certificate (full size certified copy)
- Immunization certificate (Kenticky certified)
- Physical Exam (One year current which includes hematocrit)
- Eye Exam
- Transportation information
- Household income form
- Social Security Number
How will students be transported?
Children will be assigned to buses according to the community in which they live or the location of their child care.
?Bus Transportation: ?Upon arrival to school by bus, all preschool and Kindergarten students will be met by an adult and walked to their assigned classrooms from the bus unloading zone in the rear of the building.
Parent Dropp Off (Car Riders): If a parent brings their child to school in the morning or mid-day, they must bring their child to the front entrance where they will be received by an assigned staff member. No child is to cross a roadway without adult supervision. Please do not unload until the vehice in front of you has unloaded and pulled away. If you bring your child in the morning, please have them at school by 8:15. If your child is in the afternoon Preschool session, please have them to school at 11:45, as we will begin serving lunch at 12:00 for the afternoon preschool session.
What meals will my child have during their day?
Nutrition is an important part of the WELC curriculum. School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains, and they must meet strict limits on saturated fats and portion size.
Morning children will be served a breakfast and a lunch before going home. Afternoon children will be served lunch and a snack.
Kindergarten children will be served breakfast and lunch. Snack is arranged by the classroom teacher.
