Homework (Nightly for ELA Classes):

There is NIGHTLY HOMEWORK for all  ELA Classes:

*READ for 20-30  minutes every night Monday through Thursday night--Students will have reading books to read and AR/ Library book.  (Parents will soon have a log---please sign the Weekly Reading Log on the back of the Newsletter each night. Students are to return their signed Newsletter/ Reading Log every Friday to Mrs. Lisa.

*Study the Vocabulary Words on the back of the weekly newsletter for the reading story each week.  There is a Reading TEST EVERY Friday that will cover the Vocabulary words in the test.

*SPELLING- Study the 25 spelling words every night Monday-Thursday.  There is a spelling TEST  EVERY Friday!!!   BE SURE AND STUDY LOTS!    My own child and I learn 8-9 words by letter similarity each night and review the ones we learned the nights before.  That way Thursday night we have review and pre-test at home.

*READING 1-Minute  fluency sheet---time every night Monday through Thursday to see how much they can grow in reading fluency.  This passage will also contain a sheet of QUESTIONS.  This passage and questions is due by FRIDAY and is a READING grading.   As well, the packet may include spelling, other reading, and language arts worksheets for the week that are DUE FRIDAY.

*Any unfinished or RE-DO work in the folder, books, or bookbag is HOMEWORK and due completed by the next school day.  The worksheets and work we do are necessary for GRADES.

*Sight Word Lists---Some students have sight word lists to learn and study each night to help IMPROVE reading.

*MobyMax Reading and Math contests are coming soon----be sure and be working on these sites!
