The Wayne County High School Baseball team picked up 3 more wins. They traveled to North Laurel on April 12th and won 7-5 on the road. The Bat Cards also picked up 2 district wins after the defeated Somerset Christian twice. The Bat Cards will play on the road at Madison Southern on Friday, April 19th and play at home against McCreary Central on Monday, April 22.
The Wayne County Board of Education made progress on the Bell Elementary renovation project, as the non-profit Wayne County School District Finance Corporation met in a special meeting in concert with the regular monthly meeting, authorizing the issuance of Revenue Bonds. The board had approved the adoption of a resolution authorizing the local Finance Corporation to issue the revenue bonds, prior to the special meeting, which was wrapped inside the monthly meeting.

At Monticello Elementary's "I Survived" family literacy night - Angie Phillips, Tracy Slagle, and Samantha Cummings, along with several dedicated staff members, transformed the school's hallways into scenes reminiscent of the popular "I Survived" book series that many Monticello Elementary students enjoy.
The Monticello Elementary School Drama Club presented The Little Mermaid to a packed audience at their evening performance for the public. They performed earlier for their school friends and teachers during a daytime performance. The cast of elementary students did a wonderful job and worked on the play after school. Special thanks to Curriculum Director Panesia Humble and the team of teachers who helped with the annual drama project.
