The Wayne County Cross Country Team traveled all the way to the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday November the 2nd, to compete in the Cross Country State Championship. There were 32 teams that participated and Wayne County finished 17th overall as a team.
Head Coach Kevin Jones had this to say about competeing at State, "We had 3 athletes run a 'Personal Record' which is a testament to the work they continued to put in leading up to the State Meet." He continued by saying, "Really proud of all of our runners, and of our seniors who showed leadership throughout the whole year."
Corbin would go on to win the State Championship and Coach Jones said, "Corbin was the team champion which also competes in our region, It kind of shows you how tough our region is and we wouldn't want to have it any other way."

Senior Nathan West ran a 17:49 and finished 41st out of 251 runners
Senior Jacob Morgan ran a time of 17:52 and finished 45 out of 251 runners
Nathan Smith ran a time of 18:42 and finished 101 out of 251
Seth Flynn finished with a time of 21:55 which would earn him 228 out 251
Senior Adam Sawyer ran a 22:17 which earned him 234 out of 251
