Wayne County Middle School Cross Country team competed in the North Laurel Invitational Saturday, September 25th. Emily Shearer was the overall girls champion finishing with a time of 14:04. The boys finished 2nd overall and were led by Taren Jones who finished 6th with a time of 12:33 and Collin Ramsey who finished 7th with a time of 12:37. Their next meet will be Tuesday, September 28th at the Somerset All-Comers.
The elementary team also competed with Jenna Sexton placing 4th out of 89 girl runners. There were 15 girls competing in the 2,000 meter run and their team finished second overall. The boys elementary team was led by third place finisher Zane Upchurch. The 15 boys competing ended up with a fifth place finish overall.
Seth Flynn was the sole high school runner for Wayne County.
