Wayne Invitational held at local country club

The annual Wayne County Invitational, sponsored by the Monticello Banking Company, was held at the Monticello Country Club on Sunday, August 29.

 A total of 72 high school golfers competed. The event featured thirteen teams and other individual golfers.

Wayne County placed fourth in the tournament with a team score of 306.

The winner was Bentley Perkerson from Russell County High School.

 The winning team was from Bowling Green High School.

 Monticello Bank Chairman Kenneth Ramsey kicked off the tournament with a tee shot on hole one.

 This event could not have taken place without help from Brent Sexton, Larry Matthews, Todd McFarland, Forest Sexton, and members of the Wayne County Golf Team.
