The Wayne County Area Technology Center will be rolling out the red carpet to the public to celebrate their 50th anniversary serving Wayne County’s Technical Education needs with a special Grand Opening event.

The new center will have an open house on August 16th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at their new location at 38 Academic Avenue, directly behind the Wayne County High School. The staff will be available for self-guided tours of the state-of-the-art facility. The building opened last fall for students, however, the pandemic prevented an opening event for the public. So, the upcoming Grand Opening will be a great way to celebrate the anniversary.

Wayne County has been fortunate to have a technical center over the years. The former vocational school has always been engaged in the community. They have provided local residents with the skills needed to meet the job demands of each decade. Now, they have the privilege of training young people with the latest and best practices in a modern facility filled with all kinds of impressive equipment.

The public is encouraged to stop by at the Grand Opening to get a first-hand look at a very impressive facility, with an enthusiastic and dedicated teaching staff led by Principal John Kinnett.
