Wayne County Mat Cards perform well amongst teams competing at Ashland High School

The Wayne County Wrestling team traveled to Ashland High School on Saturday February 27, for the Tomcat Invitational. The tournament featured Simon Kenton, Covington Catholic, and Covington Holmes from Northern Kentucky, Ashland Paul Blazer, Madison Central, Danville, McCreary Central, and Wayne County. The tournament was a bracketed tournament.

Medal Winners for Wayne County were:

106 lb. Colin Tucker - 1st place

113 lb. Aiden Tucker - 1st place

120 lb. Keelan Dick - 2nd place

138 lb. Dakota Karr - 2nd place

145 lb. Christian Floyd - 4th place

170 lb. Kurtis Karr - 1st place

285 lb. Nick Green - 2nd place

 

Wayne County Wrestling will be at home Thursday, February 4, when they host Knox Central for senior night. Start time is 7:00 pm at the Rodney Woods Gymnasium.

The team closes the regular season on Friday, March 5th at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville.
