VIRTUAL STUDENT CURBSIDE PICK UP

School Year 2020-21

Wayne County School virtual student curbside pick up opportunities will be available each Tuesday, beginning August 25th to start the school year. Five days worth of breakfast and lunch will be distributed each week on Tuesday. All Wayne County School students are encouraged to participate in this program.

Because of regulations that are in place for now, parents must pick up the student’s meal at the school they are enrolled, rather than the previous plan centrally located at the middle school. That means if they have three children that attend three different buildings, they will have to go to all three buildings to get their meals.

Currently the school food nutrition department will run under the National School Lunch Program (NSLPA) which is more restrictive.  When the pandemic started last March, the federal program allowed schools to serve under the Summer Feeding Service Program (SFSP) which is less restrictive.

The state of Kentucky has requested a waiver to serve meals under the Summer Feeding Service Program for the SY 2020-2021, but they have not received approval from the USDA at this point.  Once Wayne County Schools receive approval, they will be able to change it to central curbside pick-up at the Middle School and also open up some distribution sites to be more accommodating. In addition, the school district will be able to provide meals for siblings who are not enrolled in schools, as well as anyone 18 years-old and younger at that point.

The ID cards are at the front offices of the school. Please complete the google form at this link-
