The WC Boys Basketball Team was busy over the winter break. They had two tournaments to go to, one of which was in Florida. The first tournament was held at McCreary County High School and was called the Arby's/KFC Classic. The boys team did very well in those games and came back home winning all four games. Their focus then shifted to the tournament that was going to be held in Destin, Florida. The first game was a close and a hard fought battle as they played Sand Rock, Alabama. The final score of that game was 58-55 with Thomas Spencer leading the Cards in scoring by putting up 25 points. Another win came from the Cardinals when they played White Plains, Alabama and won 34-32. Thomas Spencer was also the leading scorer of that game putting up 16 points. The boys team would go 2-2 while playing in the Hilton-Sandestin Beach Blowout held in Destin, Florida. At the end of the tournament, Thomas Spencer was named to the Hilton-Sandestin Beach Blowout All-Tournament Team. He averaged 20 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. The Boys team did a great job over winter break and will be back in action this Friday, January 10th, at Perry County Central. Go Cards!!
