Local Visual Artist Jeanie Tate spoke to students about her interest in the arts.
Tate shared some of her own work with the students.
Students enjoyed discussing the art of crochet with retired Wayne County School employee Debbie Lowe. Lowe worked as an instructional assistant after serving as food service manager at Bell and Monticello Elementary.
She pointed to the center of the piece where she started the project.
Students admired Lowe's beautiful work.
Extension Fine Arts Assistant Seth Hart demonstrated how to use a potter's wheel.
Hart displayed some of his mugs, bowls and other useful clay pieces of pottery.
Painter David Coffey showed a student how to mimic his brushstroke
David Coffey showed students the photograph he was inspired by to paint the nearby picture on canvas.
Woodcrafter Mark Abner shared his works on display with middle school students.
He showed students a special pen he had created.
Extension FCS Assistant Cassie Lester shared her passion for basket making.
Lester showed the students some of her wonderful handmade baskets.
