Homecoming Queen and King

This past Friday, September 15, the Homecoming King and Queen were announced at halftime during the football team’s victory over the Harlan Black Bears 47-14. Congratulations to the Football Cards and King and Queen! Prior to the start of the game, the WCHS JROTC presented the colors followed by a performance by the WCHS Band Brass Ensembles. The musicians included: Taylor Davis, Miranda Turner, Kimmy Burchett, Cole Bell, Samantha Dixon, Colby Corder, Trey Dishman, and Natalie Sparks. September 11th through September 15th was Spirit Week. This Spirit Week was one of the most successful in Wayne County High School history. So many students participated in the theme days. Each grade level chose to decorate a hallway for a contest that was announced during the pep rally. The pep rally on September the 15th was also one of the best that WCHS has ever hosted. Sandra Baker and SGA (Student Government Association) have picked up right where Jason Kennett left off, leading and organizing the rallies. During the Pep Rally, a Spirit Prince and Princess were crowned as well as a King and Queen! The different grade’s competed against each other to win games. The winner of the most games and has the most school spirit won the school spirit stick.
