Monticello Elementary will be hosting an on-site program called "Life is Cool" for all fourth grade students on April 11th, with one group going from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the second from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The onsite program will be held at Monticello Elementary and is the final part of a 6 lesson study of human anatomy, healthy life choices and organ donation.
What is Life is Cool? It is a FREE program for Kentucky 4th graders.
Students complete five one hour classroom lessons before experiencing a hands-on event that includes 10 different learning stations staffed by healthcare personnel and volunteers from across Kentucky. Each learning station has a different emphasis and some use actual pig organs to give the students a better idea of what our internal organs actually look like! The Life Is Cool learning fair is a program finale that students, teachers and volunteers won’t soon forget!
Each teacher receives a digital teaching guide and support materials for the five teaching sessions. Each student is provided a workbook to go along with the teaching sessions. All of this is provided at no cost to the school or student.
LIFE IS COOL is a program of the Donate Life KY Coalition.
