Monticello Elementary students experience NED’s Mindset Mission
Monticello Elementary students recently experienced an interactive character education assembly called NED’s Mindset Mission.
Students were excited to learn the Power of Yet, which taught them “if you’re not good at something, it just means you’re not good at it yet.”
They were also well versed in how to spark courage in others and to keep learning and growing, even when they think they already know something.
The 45-minute school performance used storytelling, puppetry, illusions and yoyo tricks to take elementary students on an entertaining journey with the character, NED. He followed clues, met memorable characters and learned valuable lessons.
First , a yeti taught NED to overcome Mt. Everest’s toughest obstacles and to Never Give Up. With Captain Kindly, NED discovered inner treasures on a Caribbean Island and how to Encourage Others. Finally, while repairing a sputtering spaceship, NED grows his brain while learning the message Do Your Best.
Students were given the opportunity to purchase yo-yo’s after the performance and a small portion of the proceeds were donated to a Children’s Hospital affiliate to help children suffering from illnesses.
