    Wayne County will resume in-person classes on Monday, September 28 on an alternating schedule.  In-person students will be assigned to attend school on either Red (Monday & Wednesday) or White (Tuesday and Thursday) days.  All other days will be virtual days.  Expect communication from your child’s teacher regarding their assignment by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 22nd. Arrangements will be made for all members of the same household to attend on the same days.  Students who chose the full-time virtual option will continue with virtual instruction.

Wayne County Schools are anxious to welcome their students back to campus who have chosen an A/B Alternating Day schedule during the pandemic. Parent requirement to report is key to school safety scales of justice illustrate the law

Parents are required by law to work with school officials to fight the spread of COVID-19. In accordance with KRS 158.160 and 902 KAR 2:220E, parents/guardians must notify their child’s school within 24 hours following a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Food Service Program shifts gears with meal pick-ups and site distribution WCHS Cafeteria Staff pack up shelf stable meals to be distributed through pick-up service

Free meal plans are being customized to meet the needs of both A/B Alternating Schedules, as well as for full time virtual students. Plus, parents or guardians can sign up to receive pick-up meals on Fridays for children who do not attend school and are under the age of 18. Meal distribution sites concluded on September 22. 

COVID-19 Testing available to employees Drive-Thru testing for employees

Wayne County Healthy Kids Clinic will be providing Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing for school employees on Thursday, September 24th. Tests available in the Wayne County High School Gym Parking Lot from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No appointments are needed and the tests are an option for the staff, not required.

New plan for in person instruction to begin September 28 Wayne County Seal

 Wayne County students will return to the classroom for in person instruction on September 28, on an alternating day schedule providing smaller class sizes. The school board met Thursday, September 17 and discussed how they would bring students back into the classroom as safely as possible, after several weeks of virtual instruction.
