Young people enjoy receiving meals curbside boy picking up bag at bus door

Close to a thousand children have received meals daily through the efforts of the School's Nutrition Services Department, who were assisted by the Transportation Department. Check out the faces of the children being served along Mike Cooksey's in-town bus route. A fleet of six buses have been traveling the roads of Wayne County delivering meals during the school closure, as well as a school pick-up service. The buses will not be operating over spring break, but will resume services on a new schedule after April 3. The Middle School pick-up center will continue to be operating over spring break at lunchtime.

Young people are being fed either along newly established routes or through a pick-up service at Wayne County Middle School.
