“Overall, it was a pretty good day for our runners,” said Wayne County Cross Country Coach Kevin Jones. “It's always good to end the year running for a State Championship.”
This was the local program’s 13th year in a row running in the State Championship, which is always an honor.
Wayne County High School Senior Orie Roysdon placed 28th out of 254 runners with a time of 17:48.
“I’m really proud of Orie and the way he ran his race. He’s a very tough kid and I will miss his toughness and work ethic next year,” said Coach Jones.
The rest of the team ran well and placed in the following order out of 254 runners: Nathan West-76th (18:32), Jacob Morgan-102nd (18:57), Nathan Smith-155th (19:37), Cade Foster-231st (21:38), Adam Sawyer-237th (22:11), and Seth Flynn-248th (23:14).
