Cards Beat Valley, to Take on Rockcastle for the Second Round of the Playoffs

The Wayne County Cardinals took on the Louisville Valley Vikings for the first round of the state playoffs. They came away victorious, beating up on Valley 43-0.

The Cards boasted their running game Friday, as they scored 5 touchdowns on the ground. German Ruiz had a huge performance! He rushed for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lorenzo Linsey and Lucas Patton also punched one in. The lone touchdown through the air was a 14-yard strike from QB Linsey to Senior Grant Shoemaker. The defense held strong, and recording their third shutout of the season.

Friday, November 10th will be a familiar matchup with Rockcastle County. The Cardinals put it on Rock earlier in the year 27-0. They look for a similar outcome this time. Come out and support the home team at Jewell Field Friday night as they take on the Rockets in the Region Semifinals! Go Cards!
