The Wayne County High School Winter Guard competed in Ramsey, IN

      Wayne County’s Winter Guard turned a corner by having the privilege of competing once again. They traveled a long distance to compete at their first competition in several years.

      The seven-member squad attended the competition in Ramsey, IN, to perform at North Harrison High School on Saturday, February 12.

      “This was our first Winter Guard competition since 2017 and the team ended up finishing eighth in their class,” said Elsa Dishman, Wayne County High School Music Humanities Teacher/Asst. Band Director.

       Their show title is “Within a Book” and the music selection is “Two” by Sleeping at Last. The group is coached by Shelby Gregory, who graduated last year from Wayne County High School.

       The team members practice regularly and work hard to perform both Color Guard (during Marching Band season) and Winter Guard (in the winter concert season) artistic dance routines using flags include: Summer Canseco, Michaela Sexton, Katey Bell, Jordan McClellan, Lacey Spencer, Jasmine Abbott, and Brittany West.
