Wayne County High School graduate Alan Brown came and spoke to Wayne County Area Technology Center Carpentry students on January 26th about becoming a draftsman. Brown, who is an intern at Deco Architects talked about the importance of working hard to achieve one’s goals in life and shared his journey into this career field. Deco Architects, Inc. is a professional architecture firm located in Somerset, Kentucky. It currently employs a staff of six; four of which are Wayne County High School graduates. Deco has been and continues to be involved in several exciting projects in the Lake Cumberland Region, including the new addition to First Christian Church that is currently under construction in
Monticello. Brown is currently enrolled at Western Kentucky University. He is in the process of completing his senior research, before obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Science. Carpentry Instructor Joshua Parmley appreciated having a former Wayne County student share his experience in the design and construction field and serve as a role model for his students.
