Students enjoy turkey day activities

All kinds of Thanksgiving activities have been underway at the schools. The FCA/JROTC will actually be preparing Thanksgiving meals in the high school kitchen for those needing a warm delicious meal on the holiday, as well as distributing the dinners. Students across the district already enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast last week. The district food service department worked for weeks planning for the turkey day and were only 28 lbs. short from serving 1000 lbs. of turkey for the Thanksgiving holiday meal, while also serving 285 lbs. spiral ham. Student Average Daily Participation was at a high of 90% (last month ADP 84%). The nutrition department was happy to see several extra adults and parents join the students for the feast. In addition the elementary schools celebrated the season with arts and crafts and instruction tied to cooking opportunities.
