Wayne County High School Wrestling Boosters will be having a tenderloin sale on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019.

The Wayne County Wrestling team hosted Whitley County on Tuesday February 5 at the Rodney Woods Gymnasium for Senior Night. Wayne County defeated Whitley County 78-6.

Students are invited to participate in the 2019 Public Service Recognition Poster Contest. This year's theme, "Making A Difference" should be expressed through the artwork.

Mat Cards improve overall record in Owensboro wrestling

The Wayne County Wrestiling team traveled to Owensboro on Saturday, February 2nd to compete in the Daviess County Duals. the Mat Cards will be back in action on Tuesday, February 5, when they host Whitley County for senior night at the Rodney Woods Gymnasium.

The District Coordinated School Health Council for Wayne County Schools recently met and established goals for the New Year Teacher Brian Jones, Nurse Patty Burton, and Teacher Lois Bradley

The council has been discussing tobacco free schools, the wellness policy, and nutrition and physical activity report. Lake Cumberland District Health Community Educator Shannon Beaty reported on recent state legislation activity concerning all schools being tobacco free by 2020-2021. School Nutritionist Kathryn Tucker shared her department's recent "I Got Milk" campaign at the schools. Monticello Elementary Teacher Brian Jones is conducting a weekly 'boot camp' exercise class for the staff. Most of the schools have walking programs after school to increase exercise. The council encourages a variety of healthy activities and wellness opportunities for students and staff.
