Mission Statement of the School Library Media Program:

The mission of the Wayne County School libraries is to teach for learning by all students, in an environment that nurtures that process and assures equity and quality by all.

To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished:

* by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats

* by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas

* by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.

Hi!! My name is Nell Boils, and I am the Library Media Specialist at Bell Elementary. I tell the students I have the best job in the world because I love working with young children, and I love books!! I had always wanted to be a teacher since I was a young child. I am a 1983 graduate of Clinton County High School and a 1987 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I completed my graduate work at Western Kentucky University, with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a Rank I certification in Library Science. I began my teaching career in 1987 at Powersburg Elementary in Wayne County, where I taught first grade for two years and third grade for three years. I was the Library Media Specialist at Powersburg, Rocky Branch and Big Sinking Schools for three years. I guess you could say I "closed the doors" at all of the outlying schools in 1995. When Wayne County Schools consolidated, I was transferred to Walker Elementary as Library Media Specialist. When the merger with Monticello Independent and Wayne County Schools took place, I transferred to Bell Elementary as Library Media Specialist. I truly love working with all of the students and staff at Bell Elementary:)

I am married to Tony Boils, and I have two wonderful children, Brooke, 25 years old and Anthony, 20 years old. In addition, I am a member of the Green Grove Baptist Church in Albany. I enjoy spending time with my family, participating in church activities and reading.
