Staff, parents and students encouraged to nominate Wayne county School staff for Go Cards Award

MVP

It is time to begin nominating outstanding individuals who are employed by Wayne County
Schools for the Go Cards Awards ceremony, which will be held on the opening day for the staff in
August.
The deadline for receiving nominations is by the end of the day on June 3, 2019. A committee
will be reviewing all the nominees and determine the school level winners and the districtwide recipient.
The awards program was sparked by the book written by Mark Sanborn called The Fred Factor.
In fact, the state education Fred Factor Award is familiar to those in education because it recognizes
those that are the best at putting their heart into their work. The book explains, “How passion in your
work and life can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.”
This will be the fifth year that Wayne County Schools will recognize outstanding individuals, both
certified and classified, who are deserving of this award. Staff members, students and parents/guardians
are welcome to nominate extraordinary individuals who work in the Wayne County School system.
The form and information regarding suggested criteria for this award can be found on the school
district website at www.wayne.kyschools.us on the left hand column of the home page on the Go Cards
Award button. Those nominating the individual are asked to give precise examples of what makes that
person a praiseworthy candidate. A brief summary about their contributions would be helpful to the
committee.
One certified and one classified staff member from each school and one classified person from
the district staff will be recognized with a $100 recognition gift. Each winner will then be eligible to be
recognized as the district’s “MVP” and receive an additional $150 recognition award.
With so many terrific and caring employees working on the Wayne County Schools campus,
there are plenty of worthy employees to pick from that are making a difference in students’ lives.
