The board began their April meeting by honoring two students who had the winning entries in the school breakfast week poster contest. The district's Nutrition Director Karen Gibson coordinated the contest and they received many posters from our students. The two students who had submitted entries were given certificates to commemorate their efforts. There were two seperate categories - WELC student Courtney Church placed on the Elementary level, and WCMS student Danny Condreay placed on the middle school level.

After the awarding of the certificates, talk turned to the construction of the new Area Technology Center. Architect Mike Sparkman, representing the architectural design company alt32, and Tommy Gumm, owner of the Alliance Corporation construction management company, both spoke at the meeting. A schedule was presented to and approved by the board.
