"Reading Matters' at Wayne County Schools, and the school media specialists do a wonderful job assisting and motivating students to take advantage of the resources in the libraries. For instance, Wayne County Middle School Librarian, Sharon Hill, as started the school off teaching her 8th graders about their school's online library catalog.
Students have been learning what featuers they can access if they log into the catalog as opposed to just visiting and searching as a guest. When students log in, they can see what books they have checked out, put books on hold , make ilsts of books they want to read, and so much more!
Hill said, "Students at the middle school have been anxious to get into the library to check out books this year. Last year, students checked out 18,809 books!"
Hill is proud that her middle school students love to read, and that the Wayne County School District is a great supporter of their school libraries, making so many materials avalible for students to learn the love of reading.
