Vitality Checks will be offered to Wayne County Schools KEHP members on site the following dates:

Wayne County Board of Education

April 1, 2015

7:30 a.m.

Wayne County Bus Garage

April 2,  2015

7:30 a.m.

The Vitality Check is a blood screening and biometric assessment that measures body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, blood glucose (sugar), and total cholesterol. In order to get accurate results, the Vitality Check is a fasting screening. The lab testing is done by obtaining blood from the finger. We recommend you do not consume any foods or beverages nine (9) hours prior to your morning appointment. Make sure to bring your Humana Vitality ID card with you to the screening and fill out the attached consent form. It only takes approximately 10 minutes and you will receive your results the same day.

Employees will earn Vitality Points for participating in the screening. Once the screening is completed, results could take up to 45 days to appear in your Humana Vitality account. You can use the Vitality Points to purchase items in the Vitality Mall.

Weight Watchers at Work

What do you REALLY want after the holidays? Of course New Year's resolutions often include weight loss and Weight Watchers can definitely help with that. Please join us for Weight Watchers Information/Registration Session on Thursday, January 8th at 3:45-4:15 PM- Mobile classroom behind Walker Early Learning Center.

But, we also wanted to share the other benefits that come to your employees when we help them change their relationship with food, FOR GOOD. These quotes are from real Weight Watchers At Work members.

Facilitated a healthy lifestyle that I can live with

Teaches you to navigate with real food for the real world

It’s physical, emotional, and mental – it’s a whole big change – a huge shift.

Gave me back control of my life

At work group has changed everyone’s outlook. We are no longer competitive. We are collaborative.

Weight Watchers brings us together not just to talk about the foods we eat but how we are doing. We feel so much better about ourselves.

If my company had not offered WW in the workplace, I would not have done it. That was a gift

Weight loss is something you do for yourself not against yourself. This isn’t a time to punish yourself it’s a time to take care of yourself.

Holiday Health Tips from Weight Watchers

We start with Holiday Survival: One Woman's Story
- a heartfelt reflection on food, family and feelings from a very
personal perspective.

Then, for ideas and strategies that will help you avoid
temptation, be sure to check out The Great Plate

Of course you're going to indulge in dessert. It's the holidays!
But you can make your splurges small, with Berry-Lemon Tartlets
- delectable little mouthfuls with a PointsPlus® value per
serving of just 1!

Or for a more robust dessert, try our Apple Pie Crumble
made with warm, juicy apples and topped with a crunchy oatmeal
crumb. Fragrant and delicious and it only has a PointsPlus® value
per serving of 6.

Want to get out of your winter exercise rut? Then be sure to check out 7 Super-Fun Exercise Swaps. Just choose exercises you enjoy, and discover how to change them up. If exercising with others motivates you, why not start a Fit Club? Our second article will tell you how.

And while you’re powering up your fitness plan, why not power up your foods too? In this issue we focus on eggs, with lots of quick, easy ways to slice them, dice them and enjoy them without a lot of cooking.

But, if you are in the mood to cook, then make the most of the season with our Fresh Vegetable Soup. It’s packed with fresh veggies, takes just minutes to whip up, and only has (are you ready?) a PointsPlus®value per serving of 1!

Want to bring onsite meetings back or work to increase engagement into your current onsite meeting? As layers of clothing are replaced by t-shirts and shorts, employees will be motivated to get into shape! What better season to offer onsite meetings than Spring! Most people think they can lose weight on their own - and most fail. Please review the following to see the Weight Watchers difference and contact me for details on how to get started or for additional marketing support ideas.
Weight Watchers vs Do-It-Yourself

After the long, snowy and frigid winter we've had, April would be a great month to get meetings started... a fresh start!
