Wayne County Food Service Program provides another successful summer feeding program Summer feeding program

Wayne County’s Summer Food Service Program has been making sure students’ stomachs are full even when classrooms are empty. Besides just finishing serving the 21st Century Program’s Camp based at Wayne County Middle School, the Lunchbox Express mobile feeding truck has been on the road providing nutritious food to children in the community.  The summer meals program has been serving approximately 300 meals daily.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky’s 2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year, Kellie Jones of Taylor County’s Intermediate School, urged the teachers to whom she spoke at Campbellsville University to “keep your passion for teaching” and “Students today need passionate and energetic influence in their learning and in their lives.”

Wayne County Schools provide information regarding the facility tax proposal Cardinal Seal

The following questions and answers provide information about a proposed facility equivalent tax that is currently being considered to make a significant impact towards enhancing local workforce development. The facility tax would be used to secure additional state funding towards the goal of a new early college and career center to replace and expand the existing Wayne County Area Technology Center.

 Wayne County Schools are prepared to make a significant investment in community workforce development through the construction of a new early college and career center to replace and expand the existing Wayne County Area Technology Center.  In order to secure additional state funding for this project, the district must levy an additional facilities tax that will open the door for the state legislature to authorize equalization funding and significantly increase the district’s capacity to meet facility needs.
